LIFT-ASL Program

Literacy Improvement and Functional Training through American Sign Language

Our Mission
LIFT-ASL will increase literacy and educational success for Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults by providing accessible, ASL-based instruction that strengthens reading comprehension, communication skills, and confidence as learners.

What is LIFT-ASL?
LIFT-ASL is a hybrid adult literacy program designed to improve reading, communication, and educational outcomes for Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults.

How It Works
The program uses American Sign Language (ASL) as the primary instructional language to remove communication barriers. Participants engage in weekly, in-person small-group classes led by ASL-fluent instructors, reinforced by self-paced hybrid digital tools and tailored one-on-one support.
